I spent the morning buying a new wallet. Even after using a gift voucher I got from the Welsh Refugee Council a year ago I still had to spend some money on my brand new Ted Baker wallet. I had a little less money to put into it afterwards!
The rest of the day was spent doing three BBC interviews on the school in Aberdare which had excluded a Sikh girl for wearing a kara bracelet. They used two. I think that they will have problems courtesy of the 2006 Equality Act. I am, of course, not a lawyer.
Watch this space as they say.

A Matter of Faith
I had hoped that today would be a chance to rest a little before going to work. Unfortunately, the decision to exclude a young Sikh woman for wearing a kara bracelet. I did three BBC interviews. They used two.
Unless wiser counsel prevails a legal process awaits. I am far from convinced that the school would manage to steer a course around the 2006 Equality Act.
During the morning I went to buy a wallet in Cardiff. Even after using a gift voucher I was given a year ago when moving on as Chair of the Welsh Refugee Council, I had very little money left to put into my new Ted Baker wallet. That's sad.
