Rowan Williams

I was pleased that Rowan Williams saw fit to stand up to all those press and media hegemonies yesterday in the Synod. I'm very much of the view that if The Sun wants to get rid of him he must be doing a great deal that's right. It was also proper that he took responsibility for what was said.

I'm off now to Wrexham for the Wales Committee of the new Equalities and Human Rights Commission and a meeting of the north Wales Interfaith Group tomorrow night. It's a little bit of mixing work with pleasure. In this case, both are pleasure.
